Question: Can you make quilts with License fabrics(Disney, cartoon characters, etc.) and sell them? Is it legal?

I believe there are circumstances that you can.

I found that back in the late 90s, a business had fought over their items featuring Precious Moments figures and the court sided with the shop, not with Precious Moments.

I would think that it depends on how you plan to sell them. If you are selling to friends and private sources, maybe people at your church or something, you are okay.

Now, if you are going to sell in a retail aspect, you might want to find out from legal experts for sure.

I do know that some quilt patterns can restrict sales using their patterns, so those would all be separate issues.

A quilt I am making right now says to go ahead and sell all the quilts I want with that pattern but not to share my pattern.

Hope this helps. Someone else might have a better or clearer response. Good luck.
