I like to hand quilt.

I also like applique work, which I have also done by hand.

I want to try using fusible paper and want to know if it is difficult to hand quilt through that?

Applique and Hand Quilting
by: Rebecca

Hi Sue,

Many times I have used fusible applique in my quilting.

Often I have hand quilted through them to complete my project.

It can be tedious at times because the quilting needle gets caked up with the adhesive. I use rubbing alcohol to get the adhesive off of the needle and continue.

My biggest tip is that while quilting through a fused applique, only do one stitch at a time. It makes it easier and will be less frustrating.

Hope this helps.

Happy quilting,

Rebecca
