STAINED GLASS QUILT
There are a lot of horrific diseases out there. Some folks are fortunate not to experience the sad and difficult path that others are forced to travel. While others either are plagued with or have family/friends who have been afflicted.
For me, it was vascular dementia (side effect of diabetes) that robbed my brother of his memory, his communication skills, and finally his life. Many who read this read may have a sympathetic thought.
However, his passing was a blessing, not only for him, but for his dear family. His daughter (my niece) has created a team who walk annually to raise those all-important research dollars. Precious dollars, that will one day provide the mystery that unlocks the cure, giving the world the much prayed for, '1st survivor' of Alzheimer's Disease.
I'm making the quilt, in an effort, to add to her fundraising dollars. Name of this quilt is "Stained Glass" and it is a free pattern from Rose Smith, of Ludlow Quilts. It will be raffled the day of the annual walk next September. I've been sewing over 40 years, but quilting 4 years in March.
