My First Log Cabin Quilt

There is a picture here on QuiltingSupport of a quilt that I just fell in love with.
It's a blue and white log cabin style quilt that was for sale.
I didn't want one that was that big, but it inspired me to make my own in the size that I want.
That is when I thought of making a crib size quilt for my son. He'd to be able to use it in his new big boy bed.
After all if it didn't turn out so good, no one is the wiser. Right?
I was able to find some scraps of fabric in an old box that I had stashed away years ago from the last move.
The blues were very similar to the quilt I saw. That left me with just the white I would need to find.
Easy enough.
I cut the fabric into 3 inch strips. I then started with four 3x3 inch squares to make 4 blocks.
Once the block were completed, I sewed them together in the arrangement I wanted.
I must say it was really easy and it turned out nicer than I thought it would.
For a first attempted at using the log cabin motif, the quilt top is ... I'm really proud of it!
I'm not even sure I want to give it away to my son.
I might just put it on the wall to be a decorative piece I can admire.
One thing is for sure. I will be making more in the future!
Thanks for the inspiration,
Lisa
