When a fabric has no visible selvedges (eg. from a old cushion or piece of clothing), how do you square up the material so you get accurate cuts?

Thank you,

Hi Mary,

I usually take out my big cutting mat, acrylic square ruler, and my rotary cutter.

Then, I line the fabric up on the mat so it shows what needs to be trimmed against the grid of the mat.

Finally, I place my acrylic square on top of the fabric and cut off the edges to get a perfect rectangle or square of fabric.
