How many different fabrics does a jelly roll have and how many strips of each color does it have?

by Linda

I am trying to create a pattern I purchased, without realizing it called for a jelly roll.

Then I tried to buy the jelly roll I wanted, but it was no longer available.

I bought the fabrics I want to use, but find the directions confusing as they are for a jelly roll.

How many fabrics does a jelly roll contain?

How long are the strips of each fabric?

I want to cut my fabric to imitate a jelly roll, so I can understand the directions.

Thanks in advance.

Depends

To answer your question, it depends on the jelly roll that the pattern is calling for.

Usually jelly rolls strips are 2.5 inch by 42 inch strips of fabric.

The count of strips can vary, but are usually 40 or 20 per jelly roll.

I hope this helps.
