Hospital Stay Mini Quilt

Little Hawaiian Mug Rug
I love entering Swaps.
So in July, I entered Heather Valentine's Mini Quilt Swap.
I received my partners name and likes about fabric, color and what they enjoyed most doing.... I had an idea of what my partner would enjoy and then I was diagnosed with Cancer.
I was in hospital for some time in August of this year. But I still wanted to make that mini quilt for my partner who loved bright colors, Hawaii, and was a teacher.
So I decided to make a mini that she could hang up or use as a mug rug at school.
My granddaughter found a coloring book of flowers of Hawaii. Then my daughter took my list of fabrics, batting, thread and needles home with her.
I was 150 miles from home.
When they brought them to me, I cut and stitched the mini quilt that was due by the end of August.
Working on a project kept the fears away. It helped me through all the tests, operations, and medical issues that happened during my hospital stay.
I am really thankful for the doctors and nurses care that I am able to say that today I am a Cancer Survivor.
