Guidelines
“Helpful Rules for Our Quilting
Community Board”
Welcome to
our Quilting Forum.
These
guidelines are in place to help guide you in the proper direction when it comes
to posting on our Quilting Forum.
We are an
open, international, and multi-cultural community. Everyone is encouraged to
participate.
We have come
together here to rejoice in the art of quilting. The primary mission of our
community is to help each other share and grow as quilters.
We strive to
create and maintain a cheerful, nurturing, encouraging, friendly and fun
environment.
Our quilting
community board is moderated. We have standards of behavior based on common
sense and common courtesy.
Along this
page is where you will find our guidelines and rules for using our quilting
community board.
The
guidelines we institute are in addition to those rules of common sense and
courtesy, and we are not able to outline for every possible situation.
The simple
rules we write here can in no way constitute the entire scope of how Quilting
Support’s Quilting Forum will be managed.
We can only
provide our guidelines and do our best to maintain this site. We do this with its original purpose in mind
- providing a place for people to get together, share their creativity, talent,
and provide support for one another in a positive way.
We expect and
welcome contributions that stimulate and add to our creative atmosphere. While
encouraging all discussions, we expect all participants to treat each other
with respect and courtesy.
Although the
moderators of Quilting Support will attempt to keep all objectionable messages
off this site, it is impossible for us to review all comments. All messages
express the views of the author, and the owners of Quilting Support will not be
held responsible for the any content of any message.
Sometimes
it’s hard to know what is appropriate to post.
We understand, up to a point.
By posting on
our site you are agreeing to these rules and guidelines, you warrant that you will not post
any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening,
or otherwise violate any laws.
We reserve
the right to remove, edit, or move any content item for any reason. All
original posts are reviewed before they are live on the site. Comments are monitored but posted before
review. Offensive material will be
deleted without warning.
Simple Guidelines
New? That’s wonderful!
We are a
quilting community that loves to welcome others.
When
introducing yourself be sure to let us know how long you have been quilting and
where you’re from. There are people from
all over the world that visit this site.
It’s neat to see where everyone is coming from and their points of view
are a reflection of that.
We are an
international, multi-cultural community. Please remember and respect that.
Be polite.
The Quilting Forum should be a place we want gather to share information,
friendship, and encouragement.
When asking a
question, please be thorough so you can get appropriate answers.
Prohibited Content
- Arguments
or posting bad experiences are allowed for venting. However, "screaming" and spiraling
anger are not permitted. If you start to beat a dead horse with your posts,
they will be removed.
- Please
do not post religious content. This site
is not anti-religion. This site is just not the place for it and we do not want
to make anyone feel uncomfortable.
- Do
not post images with copyrighted patterns of other quilters without their
permission. Make sure any images are your own.
- Links
are not able to be posted within your original post. In order to get a link into your post, you
will need to contact us before or shortly after posting. If we find that your suggested link is
appropriate, we will edit your post to include the link.
Profile Signatures
- Keep
your signatures to no more than 3 lines total. This is still plenty of room for
fun and creativity.
- If
your signature is to contain a link to your website/blog/store, then please
reciprocate and link to our home page from your site before you post. This will be checked before your post will be
approved. Contact us to include the appropriate
link in your post.
- Signatures
may contain a maximum of 2 off-site links to blogs, shops, etc. These signature
lines are considered passive advertising, a privilege of this site if they are
used properly.
- Non-compliant
signatures will be edited or removed upon discovery without notice.
Advertising/Solicitation Is Not
Permitted
- We
realize that many of our members have their own off-site blogs and/or operate
businesses that relate to quilting. Professionals are every bit as welcome here
as beginners. We ask that you participate here as a regular/genuine member who
coincidentally has a profession or off-site blog that relates to quilting.
- You
may not exploit your posts to actively advertise or promote your blog, your
company, product or site or to solicit customers. This includes but is not
limited to your own specials, sales, open houses, products you sell on your
website, hardwall store, etc.
- Do
not include either your business name or a link to your site inside your posts.
They will not work. Instead use a
signature and make arrangements with us.
- If
your signature is to contain a link to your website/blog/store, then please
make sure to reciprocate and link to this site's home page from your site and
contact us with this information. Our
system automatically removes links and would need us to place them for you appropriately.
- Posts
that are deemed to be advertising or promotional in nature will be edited or
deleted upon discovery and without notice by our moderators.
- Should
you wish to advertise on our site, please send an email to
support@quiltingsupport.com (Please use the subject line: Inquiring About Paid
Advertising at QuiltingSupport.com.)
Acceptable Content
- Consumer
complaints can be helpful. Please post them in the appropriate thread. These
include accounts of unhappy shopping experiences, complaints about sale,
discount, coupon policies, and/or customer service you were not pleased with,
etc.
- A
friendly, informative and spirited debate can be a great deal of fun. It's an
opportunity to see things from other points of view and, perhaps, to learn
something new. We should laugh and learn our way through it.
Wrap Up
We reserve
the right to add more to these guidelines at any time. The intent is to keep this as a place that
everyone wants to enjoy.
We look
forward to hearing from you.
Happy quilting,
Quilting Support
