Ashton's Memory Quilt

by Kim John-Trewren (kimjohntrewren@outlook.com

I was asked if I could make a memory quilt for my nephew & his wife in 2014.

Their son, Ashton, had died at 5 months old - cause unknown in 2011.

I didn't have the privilege of meeting Ashton as they live in England and I in the USA.

I was incredibly touched and honored by the request. This was clearly out of my boxed comfort level.

It took me a couple of months of just looking at the outfits before I could even think of cutting them up!

This was my creation and it hangs on their wall.

Memory quilts are a lovely.I made two for an aunt in Italy. She lost one of her twin boys, He was 31yrs old.
I made one from his tee shirts and one from other shirts.
Then I applied photos on them.
Ashtons parents will have memories forever now.

This is absolutely precious. Memory quilts always hit my heart. There is no better way to love the memory of someone who has passed away.
