Have you ever made a quilting stencil?
There are a few different ways to get this design on your quilt so you have a guide for where the stitches go.
Quilting stencils are our favorite, because no matter which way you move the materials the guide will always be there.
Paper guides such as butcher’s paper, freezer paper, and etc. are alright too. They rip, tear, and sometimes shift which we find quite frustrating.

If you decide that you want to go with a paper guide, just pin the paper to the quilt in the ideal locations. Keep in mind though that using a paper guide is temporary. More often than not, you will need to make several guides using this method.
Have you decided to use your own quilting stencil?
Great! Now lay out the quilt top and place the stencil over the areas you want to quilt.
Using a quilt pounce is a quick and easy method to mark out the quilt. However, if you prefer to use pencils or fabric markers, that’s ok too.
Mark out the guide using your stencil and the chosen technique for transfer.
Once the quilt top has the guide, assemble your quilting sandwich, cookie, or Oreo as we like to call it.
Then it’s time to get quilting. The stitches can start anywhere on this pattern.
Here are a two places this quilting pattern will look ideal.
Of course this pattern is so lovely that it will look wonderful anywhere.
We hope you enjoy using the free rose line quilting pattern. Be on the lookout for more to come.
