Quilting Cruise

I know this might sound like a weird question, but I’m gonna ask it anyway.

What the heck do you do on a quilting cruise?

I’ve heard of crafting cruises where you can knit or make crafts, but I don’t think I understand this one. (To tell you the truth, I don't get those ones either.)

What exactly do you do on a quilting cruise?

Is it like a huge quilting bee that just happens to be on a cruise ship?

Or is it just a big quilting class?

What do the other family members do?

Is it better to go on this type of cruise by yourself?

As you can see, this is a very confusing subject to me. Please help answer if you can.

Has anyone actually been on one of these cruises?

Quilting Vacation
by: Anonymous

I haven't been on one of these vacations, but I've read about them.

From what I can see, these cruises are usually geared to individuals or groups with the same interest (not families).

While on the crafting cruise there are seminars and quilting classes that teach a particular technique or two. The instructor is usually a professional in the field. You can ask them questions and get one on one instruction.

Meanwhile, when the ship docks there are usually daytime excursions. These trips can be to the local quilt shops and sometimes quilt festivals too.

I've noticed that the cruises are in exciting locals as well. Imagine going to Bali to see the bali and batik fabric at the source or Tahiti to see the local quilting festival.

These cruises happen all over the globe, from Alaska to Bora Bora.

I'll admit it definitely sounds fun, but if the family doesn't have the same interest, I would suggest going on your own or with some other gals that like to quilt too.
